As every year we see and tell our clients who ask us for interior design advice, natural tones are still in fashion, being super trendy in this new year. Natural tones are warm and deep allowing us to create an authentic atmosphere. However, unlike in previous seasons, this time we will dispense with beige and mouse grey in the interior decoration of 2022, both are too classic colours, but without abandoning them, this year we propose to be colourful!

1 – EMERALD COLOUR

The Etsy platform has named this shade as the Colour of the Year 2022. Emerald green can have vibrant or softer shades, but it always adds a touch of glamour to your home decor.

2 – EARTHY

Earth tones have also made a big splash this year in interior decoration, especially when it comes to dressing the walls.

From the lightest tones such as beige, a term that comes from French and means raw, to the darkest, such as chocolate browns or terracottas, through the whole intermediate range, although the darkest colours are still not the most appreciated due to their current negative connotations.

Perhaps it is for these reasons that these shades have come to the top of the trend, at least momentarily, is terracotta, which is more in vogue than ever. Although terracotta is a colour that comes from dry clay and is associated with rustic interiors or spaces, nowadays it is a perfect colour to paint the walls of any space, whether it is rustic or even minimalist.

Sand and earth tones connect us with nature, so a monochromatic and textured wall can be like a warm embrace.

3 – LIME GREEN

Vivid and intense shades are used sparingly so as not to saturate. They are more tiring to the eye, so, in decoration, it works to combine them with neutrals or in brushstrokes.

It inspires serenity and harmony, but it also has a revitalising effect on our mood, like a wonderful day outdoors, which is why it is being introduced in kitchens and bathrooms, places where it helps us to wake up or recover energy to continue the day by exerting its power.

It is a decorative trend that is here to stay and it reaches every corner of the house.

4 – PANTONE 2022 VERY PERI
